Born in May 1933. Robbie attended Ripon Grammar School. Served in The Royal Signals during National Service. Joined his father Robert and elder brother Murray in the family business of R Scorer & Sons Ltd, wholesale potato merchants, Ripon. He retired from business in 1993.
As a Lewis, he was initiated into De Grey & Ripon Lodge No.837, in July 1963 and was installed as Master in December 1974.He was exalted into Marquess of Ripon Chapter No 837, in May 1965 and became First Principal in February 1981.
During the early 1990’s he became the Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies in both Craft and Chapter and during part of that same period he also held the same rank in the Mark Province of West Yorkshire, probably the only person in living memory to have held all three positions at the same time. He was well known for being meticulous in the planning, instruction, timing and perfection in all ceremonial matters that he directed. He directed at several Craft consecrations, including Tectonic Lodge No.9407 in March 1991 and West Riding Acting Officers Lodge No.9645 in April 1997.
He was installed as an Assistant Provincial Grand Master in September 1998 by R.W Bro J Trevor Broadley and retired in May 2004.
He was married to Gwen for 62 years, they have two sons, Robert and Craig.

Robbie can only be described as one of the ‘old school’.
He was excellent at ritual and he didn’t take fools lightly, he was a brilliant Provincial Director of Ceremonies who mentored many brethren in art of the Office.
His looks during the ceremonies or at the festive board said if you was doing well or not and you always got his comments after every meeting which was complementary or otherwise if you needed it or not.
On a person note thank you Robbie your help, assistance and advise over many years as proved invaluable.
RIP Brother and I’m sure you’ll keep an eye on all of us.
