Friday 4th February saw the much belated Celebratory Centenary meeting (postponed due to Covid it should have been held in November 2020) for Knaresborough Priory Lodge No 4171.
The meeting was held at the Masonic Hall Knaresborough, which was at full capacity with the Lodge's members plus members of our Mother and Daughter Lodges attending plus many personal visitors. W Bro. Dr Andrew L Wright, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, was the Presiding Officer. He was accompanied by a Provincial Deputation. Their attendance made the evening even more special. A brief but very informative history of the Lodge was presented by W Bro. D. Clegg, following which W. Bro Wright presented the Worshipful Master with the Centenary Warrant. The subscribing members of the Lodge were then presented individually with their Centenary Jewels. A most enjoyable oration was then delivered by the Provincial Grand Chaplain. The Lodge Charity Steward, W Bro. M Wrigglesworth then presented the Assistant Provincial Grand Master with a cheque on behalf of the Lodge for West Riding Masonic Charities for £4171 (the Lodge Number). This money was in addition to the typical individual and Lodge contributions. It had been raised by various activities undertaken by the members. A full celebration Festive Board was held during which many friendships were renewed and made and stories about the Lodge over the years shared. The above photo shows the Brethren of the Lodge after the ceremony with W Bro. Wright, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, second from the left. This was an evening to remember and one to celebrate for many reasons, one that all who attended thoroughly enjoyed.
